Huskies Bash Stingers 13-4WILLMAR--Things didn't go according to plan for the Stingers on Friday night at Bill Taunton Stadium as they dropped the second of three to the Duluth Huskies by a final score of 13-4. Things started poorly and just got worse for the Stingers, as Duluth got four runs in the top of the first inning off Willmar starter Charley Olson, bouncing the Stingers ace after just two innings. Click for more info» Willmar Walks Off With 10-9 WinWILLMAR--The Stingers have provided plenty of late-inning heroics, but one of the most exciting wins in Willmar franchise history came on Thursday night as the Stingers stormed back from a late two-run defecit to beat the Duluth Huskies 10-9 in the tenth inning at Bill Taunton Stadium. After allowing a pair of sixth inning runs, the Stingers came up with two in the eighth to tie the game before Jordan Smith's tenth inning triple resulted in Sean Dwyer's game winning sac fly to left. Click for more info» Stingers Sweep Doubleheader, In First PlaceWILLMAR--In their triumphant return to Bill Taunton Stadium after nearly two full weeks on the road, the Stingers took care of business on Wednesday, sweeping the Alexandria Beetles in a pair of seven inning games by final scores of 7-2 and 5-0. The wins, when combined with losses by St. Cloud, Brainerd, and Duluth vault the Stingers to 28-24 overall and 10-7 in the second half, but more importantly, into first place in the very tight North Division second half race. | Stingers and Beetles Postponed |

WILLMAR--Due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions, Tuesday night's game between the Willmar Stingers and the Alexandria Beetles has been postponed. As a result, the Stingers and Beetles will play a pair of seven inning games on Wednesday, July 28th starting at 6:05 pm at Bill Taunton Stadium, with the gates opening at 5:00 pm.

| Stingers Drop Low Scoring Affair 6-3 |

ALEXANDRIA--The Beetles got out to a quick lead on Monday, scoring five runs in the second inning off Willmar starter Roy Metter and never looked back, beating the Stingers 6-3 in the first of a three game series. Metter was relieved by Jeff Barto after the third and the Campbellsville lefty looked solid, giving up just one run in five innings pitched.

| Another Day, Another Blowout Win |

BRAINERD--For the second consecutive day, the Stingers came away with a masterful, dominating 11-4 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers on Sunday in the final game Willmar will play at Stewart C. Mills Field this season. The win was the Stingers third straight and puts them above .500 in the second half standings at 7-6 and two games above even in the overall standings at 25-23.
